A TINY BIT OF FIRE
7 - 11 September 2021
139 Whitfield Street, London, W1T 5EN, United Kingdom
In the 1600s, a scintilla would refer to a tiny bit of fire, a spark produced by striking together two stones, a small fiery particle thrown off from a fire. In this present moment, a scintilla can describe a small quantity of almost anything, from a scintilla of seasoning to a scintilla of hope. A Tiny Bit Of Fire incorporates a series of works made by 31 artists over the last couple of years which have in common their scale, presenting a tiny excerpt of each artist’s practice.
Warbling is excited to present this collection of works, whose themes explored range from, though are not limited to, intimacy and intertwining limbs, human habits leading into imagined folklore and songs. Although each piece within the exhibition varies in concept, A Tiny Bit Of Fire endeavours to reveal how each small artwork can ignite a fuse, uncovering unlooked-for resemblances between works from artists based internationally.
